Community Involvement

 

Team Angel has chaired the Women’s Council of Realtors Charity Fund-raisers in the following years: 1987, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1996, and 1998. This has raised over $150,000.00 for local charities such as: Volunteers of America, Shreveport Little Theater, and the LSU Real Estate Chair Scholarship Fund.

Team Angel has worked in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 with the Volunteers of America on various fund raising projects, including serving as Table Captains at the Cherish the Children’s annual breakfast. Team Angel chaired the Habitat for Humanity Fundraising in 2005 and 2006 for the Northwest Louisiana Association of Realtors. Team Angel helped raise the money and not only worked on the construction site, but scheduled all the Realtors to work. Results: Built two homes for families; one in Shreveport and one in Bossier City.

Team Angel has chaired other charity fund raising events, such as the WCR Fishing Tournament in 1998, 1999, 2000 and the first Annual Red River Revel Bass Tournament on the Red River, 2001, second Annual Red River Revel Bass Tournament on the Red River, 2002, third Red River Revel Bass Tournament 2003, and chaired the fourth annual Red River Revel tournament in 2004. Team Angel has also chaired the first annual State Fair of Louisiana Bass Tournament in 2003, and headed this project up for 2004. Team Angel chaired Project Graduation for Airline High School seniors, 2007. Mischa Angel served as President of the Airline Parent Teacher League, Airline High School, 2006-2007 and 2007-2008.

Team Angel is or has been active on the following: The United Way, Easter Seals, March of Dimes, Adopt a School, The Shreveport Little Theater, Volunteers of America, The Opera Guild, The Symphony Guild, Red River Revel, Highland Center, Habitat for Humanity and many others.

 

Real Estate Community Involvement

 

Served on every committee at the Shreveport-Bossier Board of Realtors, including Chairman of MLS Program Committee, Chairman of Advertising and Public Relations, Chairman of Education, Member of Long Range Planning Committee, President Women’s Council of Realtors, Home Builders Association Membership Drive, Chairman Professional Standards Committee, Leadership Council, Women’s Council Governing Board, Board of Directors, Shreveport-Bossier Board of Realtors. Chaired the night at the Strand for the State Louisiana Realtors Association, The Real Estate Trends Conference, 2001, and 2003, Louisiana State Realtors Convention in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Currently serving on the Professional Standards Committee and the Annual Fish Fry Night Out sponsored by the Northwest Louisiana Board of Realtors. Currently working with the Northwest Louisiana Association of Realtors to build a house in Shreveport in connection with “Habitat for Humanity”.   Mischa Angel began her real estate career in May 1977. During the past 30 years, Mischa has continually been a top producer in real estate. Since 1977 Mischa has sold over 4750 properties. Known internationally, Mischa has been one of the most popular teachers at real estate business conferences and seminar. She has taught seminars all over the USA and Puerto Rico.   David Angel is Mischa’s husband. These two teamed up in real estate in 1991. David had always been in sales, in fact, he sold real estate in the Caribbean prior to moving to Bossier City, 1978. With David’s strong sales background, it came naturally for this couple to work together in Real Estate. This was the beginning of “Team Angel”. Since 1991, David has continually been a multimillion-dollar producer. David’s strong negotiating ability and savvy in putting deals together, has earned him such accomplishments as selling the highest priced single residential sale in the Northwest Louisiana Board of Realtors MLS to date. David’s community involvement and aggressive prospecting helps keep Team Angel on the cutting edge. In 2006, David has broadened his real estate business into the Movie/Film industry. He works with the Film companies to find housing and site locations for talent and producers working in the Shreveport-Bossier City area. David is working with the Director of Community Development to persuade people from the Movie Industry to relocate to our area. David is a member of the Robinson Film Commission.

 

  J. R. Burt is Mischa Angel’s son. J. R. has grown up in the real estate industry. He officially began his residential real estate career in 1991, when he earned his real estate license. However, J.R. has been working with Mischa for years doing signs, keys, photos, errands and such. J. R. is a valuable member of the Team, working as the Office Manager and Closing Coordinator. J.R. has the ability to handle numerous portfolios and is the best in the business at multi-tasking the many facets of taking a property from pending to closing. As Closing Coordinator, J. R. makes sure once the property goes under contract, everything goes smoothly. He handles the appraisals, home inspections, repair bids and repairs, and termite inspections. J. R. is in constant contact with the Mortgage company and Title company and schedules the closing, makes sure the clients get information on the closing papers and so forth. J.   Kelly M. Burt is a graduate of Minden High School and attended LSUS, majoring in economics and finance. She is a member of the Women's Council of Realtors, and an active member of the Greenacres Middle School and Apollo Elementary School PTL. She has been an active member in the Young Women's Service Club and is an associate member of the Junior Service League where she served two years as president.

 

A member of the First United Methodist Church, Kelly is an active conservationist as a member of Ducks Unlimited, where she served on the Greenwing Committee. Kelly's past business experience includes several years in marketing and operations in the automobile and golf industries. Her friendly, outgoing personality & willingness to assist eager buyers makes Kelly a welcomed member of our Team.   Josie Wright is a multi-million dollar producer who began her career in Real Estate in 2003. She has earned the following industry designations; GRI, CRS, ABR, ASR and "E-PRO". She has taken and continues to take numerous Real Estate courses online to keep her informed of any changes to the industry. Before beginning her real estate career, Josie worked for JPJ Investments, a financial investment company. She is an active member of the Northwest Louisiana Association of Realtors and Women's Council of Realtors and supports the Shreveport/Bossier Chamber of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity, American Heart Association, St. Jude’s and the American Cancer Society. Josie’s commitment to represent her clients and her absolute dedication make her a key member of our Team.   Kayleigh Burt is Mischa and David Angel’s granddaughter. Kayleigh is a 2007 graduate of Airline High School, works part-time for Team Angel and is a full-time student at Louisiana Tech where she serves as Sisterhood Chairman of her soroity, Sigma Kappa. Kayleigh is a computer expert and assists Team Angel with marketing and advertising. Kayleigh designs color brochures, advertisements for printed publications and works with Team Angel’s Direct Mail program. Kayleigh has worked part-time for Team Angel since she was 8 years old. She has worked up from putting stamps on envelopes to being a valuable assistant in the everyday real estate business. Kayleigh is involved in the Habitat for Humanity and served as Co-Chairman for the 2006 Fundraiser.
